"The Fall Guy", an upcoming Universal Pictures film starring Oscar nominee, Ryan Gosling and Golden Globes award winner, Emily Blunt, is inspired by 1980’s hit TV series of the same name and storyline honors the world of stunts.

From real life stunt man and blockbuster director, David Leitch, of Universal’s "Jurassic World" and "Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw”, "The Fall Guy" is his most personal film yet.

The film is also making history in the industry. Leitch hired the best in the business Chris O’Hara, industry veteran stunt coordinator, second unit director and president of Stunts Unlimited, to bring the movie to life and accurately represent the stunt men and women who work on films and the stunt community.

O’Hara’s work was critical to the film, so much so that Leitch, producing partner Kelly McCormick, and the 87North stunt team in collaboration with Universal Pictures contacted the Screen Actors Guild and the Directors Guild of America to propose a "Stunt Designer" credit for Chris O’Hara instead of the traditional "stunt coordinator," to better highlight the multifaceted nature and artistic contribution of the role.

David Leicht, Emily Blunt, and Ryan Gosling at SXSW 2024

Gosling, who has the leading role in the film and plays a stunt man, shared his appreciation for the crew as well at SXSW in March.

“We hope that it’s reflective of how much the crew gives to every film,” Gosling said. “There are so many cynical movies about moviemaking. The crews care so much. They give so much, it’s amazing. It’s things no one will ever notice. They put so much love and attention into every detail. And they get no credit — well, they get a credit at the end but it goes so fast. It was fun, on some small level, to reflect how much they care.”
