'Wicked' and 'Wicked: For Good' to Tour Globally as Live-to-Film Concert Experiences

Following the worldwide success of Universal Pictures’ Wicked and Wicked: For Good, the 2024 and 2025 blockbuster films are becoming live-to-film concert experiences. The concerts are created in collaboration with Universal Film and Universal Destinations & Experiences and will bring the global phenomenon to audiences around the world accompanied by a live symphony orchestra performing the scores in sync with the films.

The concert experiences will feature the films projected on a massive HD screen while orchestras perform Grammy and Oscar winner Stephen Schwartz’s iconic songs and the unforgettable score by Oscar nominee John Powell and Schwartz live-to-picture. Based on the generation-defining Broadway musical, the pair of Wicked films became a worldwide cultural event, captivating audiences with its dazzling visuals, emotional storytelling, and unforgettable music. 

Universal Film has partnered with Justin Hurwitz’s company Hurwitz Concerts, which has toured La La Land in Concert and Whiplash in Concert since 2023, and which now makes its entry into producing concerts of films not scored by Hurwitz.

Directed by Jon M. Chu, Wicked and Wicked: For Good stars Academy Award nominees Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda, alongside Jonathan Bailey, Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, and Marissa Bode. Featuring beloved songs including “Defying Gravity,” “Popular,” and “For Good,” the films have resonated with audiences globally and reintroduced the world of Oz to a new generation.
