Comcast NBCUniversal and Partners Rebuild Homes for Wildfire‑Impacted Families in Los Angeles County
Multi-month rebuilding effort culminates during NBA All‑Star Weekend with two families receiving homes
March 02, 2026
In the aftermath of the devastating 2025 wildfires, many families across Los Angeles County continue to navigate the long road to recovery. To support rebuilding efforts, Comcast NBCUniversal partnered with the LA Clippers, the NBA, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, and San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity on a multi-month effort to support 100 local families through volunteer home build events. The partnership culminated at the 18th Annual NBA Cares All‑Star Day of Service, and over the course of the season, more than 112 households impacted by the fires received critical resources to aid in their recovery.
During three community build days – held in October, December, and February – Comcast NBCUniversal employees worked alongside Habitat teams, Clippers players and NBA legends, and local volunteers to frame walls, assemble cabinets, and prepare homes for families beginning their next chapter. The effort underscored a shared belief that meaningful recovery happens through collaboration, and that strong teams can help strengthen communities.
Home Unveilings During NBA All-Star Weekend
The partnership reached a milestone during NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles, where two families – one from Los Angeles and one from the San Gabriel Valley – were recognized as the newest recipients of homes built through this effort. Both families were affected by the wildfires and have been working closely with Habitat for Humanity throughout the rebuilding process.
During the event, partners, volunteers, and supporters gathered to mark the progress of the construction and to celebrate the families' ongoing journeys toward returning to their homes.
Supporting Young Creators Through Venice Arts Partnership
Complementing the rebuilding work, Comcast NBCUniversal also collaborated with Venice Arts, a nonprofit creative agency that ignites, expands, and transforms the lives of Los Angeles youth through photography and film education and on‑the‑ground training opportunities. Venice Arts apprentices documented the build days and the All-Star Weekend activities through video, photography, and interviews, gaining real‑world production experience modeled after NBCUniversal’s Creative Impact Lab approach to hands‑on skills development.
Their content will share the stories behind the homes, the volunteers, and the families involved, while apprentices gained meaningful exposure to careers in the creative industry.
Together with its partners, Comcast NBCUniversal supported a project that highlights the impact of collaboration in helping families rebuild after the wildfires. Through volunteer engagement and impactful community partnerships, the effort contributed to ongoing recovery work taking place across Los Angeles County.
