April 29, 2026
NBCUniversal celebrated National Bring Your Kids to Work Day by welcoming kids into our offices for a behind-the-scenes look at media and entertainment. Seventeen different NBCUniversal campuses nationwide participated, including New York's 30 Rockefeller Plaza, the Universal Studios Lot in California, NBC Sports' headquarters in Stamford, and Telemundo's headquarters in Miami, among many other locations.
By bringing kids into the office, parents had the opportunity to showcase the powerful role they play here at NBCUniversal every single day, while also inspiring the next generation of media professionals.

At 30 Rock, parents and kids joined the Tour at NBC Studios to see how journalism comes to life from the field to the control room to the studio. Kids got a firsthand look at how television is made, learning from crew members about hair and makeup and special effects before creating their own Bring Your Kids to Work Day production.
From the news desk to the animation studio, the fun continued as kids learned how to draw Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon with guidance from DreamWorks animators. Creatives showed our aspiring animators how the different elements of animation including the characters, the backdrops, and special effects come together to bring stories to life on screen.
Kids were surprised by a visit from Minions Henry and James from the upcoming film Minions & Monsters, premiering July 1, 2026. The day also featured ice cream, hands-on arts and crafts, and a chance to learn from NBCU's Pup-in-Training, Cheddar.

On the Universal Studios Lot, families gathered for lunch to mark the occasion, where kids played games, enjoyed a World Cup-themed photo opportunity, and met characters from iconic NBCUniversal films.
Parents and their kids were able to give back to their local communities with L.A. Works as they created jump ropes for Para Los Niños and seed balls to support fire-impacted communities through the Altadena Fire Collaborative. The celebration continued with screenings of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, now playing in theaters.

In Miami, Telemundo hosted a World Cup-themed Bring Your Kids to Work Day in anticipation of the FIFA World Cup kicking off on Telemundo and Peacock on June 11. At the NBC Sports headquarters in Stamford, kids took part in a series of challenges and games before touring NBC Sports' studios and control rooms and decorating their own baseball caps in celebration of NBCUniversal's new partnership with Major League Baseball.

In Orlando, kids visited Universal CityWalk and Universal Studios where they got to go behind the scenes to see the Mega Movie Parade floats up close, meet some of their favorite characters, participate in a scavenger hunt, and have an end-of-day celebration.
At the DreamWorks Animation office in Glendale, CA, kids in grades K-5 enjoyed a sneak peek of Forgotten Island, an upcoming animated adventure comedy (in theaters September 25), and took part in a range of hands-on activities – including a yoga session, a voice acting workshop with talent from Gabby's Dollhouse, a modeling class, and a scriptwriting workshop.
Teens (grades 6-12) explored the creative side of production by learning animation software and trying their hand at 3D printing.

At our local stations in Los Angeles, KNBC and KVEA offices welcomed families for tours of the station, including a close-up look at the STORM Ranger, the vehicle used to track storms.
In Dry Creek, kids celebrated with face painting, balloon twisting, an inflatable soccer goal celebrating the upcoming World Cup, iconic Universal movies, and a look at the local station, KDEN Telemundo.

Through NBCUnites, the company's social impact initiative, our campuses partnered with Color A Smile to create coloring sheets, sharing joy with nursing homes, Meals on Wheels programs, hospitals, and more.
Across all locations, the day brought NBCUniversal's world to life for the next generation – sparking curiosity, creativity, and a deeper connection to the stories we tell.
