The glitz and glamour of Hollywood took on a different hue at the 4th Annual Habits of Waste Sustainability Dinner. This event not only celebrated the stars but also the unsung heroes of sustainability. The industry’s finest gathered to honor individuals and organizations that are making a significant impact on the environment and inspiring change within the entertainment industry.

Among those champions was Sam Enoch, Vice President of Film Strategy & Operations at Universal Pictures, who received the 2023 Hero Award. Universal's Kimberly Burnick presented Enoch with the award for his unwavering commitment to sustainability that transcends his day-to-day responsibilities, and recognition for his pivotal role in developing the GreenerLight Program, a pioneering initiative that aims to revolutionize the filmmaking process, making movies more eco-friendly from script to screen.

"The entertainment industry has the unique power to influence societal change, and we are proud that Habits of Waste recognized our team at this year's event,” said Enoch. “The 'Lights, Camera, Plastic' initiative from Habits of Waste is a fantastic gateway to inspire our audiences to have broader conversations about climate change and sustainability."

Universal Pictures' commitment to sustainability goes beyond just one program or individual. The studio plans to continue making strides in reducing its carbon footprint, from investing in renewable energy to adopting green technologies. By endorsing and actively implementing the GreenerLight Program, Universal is showing that big studios can be active in the fight against climate change. It showcases what's possible when creativity meets conscience.
