Universal's Below-the-Line Traineeship Partners with Screen Ireland for Universal Pictures Cocaine Bear

Elizabeth Bank’s 2023 film, Cocaine Bear was host to Universal’s below-the-line traineeship, which helps cultivate the next generation of costumer designers, prop masters, camera operators, technicians, and the myriad of roles crucial to any production team. In partnership with Screen Ireland who helped source Ireland’s up-and-coming talent, trainees were exposed to all areas of filmmaking along with unmatched networking opportunities. As part of Bank’s work with the traineeship, Universal was able to place a shadow director to work alongside her on the film.

In 2021, Universal launched the Below-the-Line Traineeship, providing on and off-the-job training and mentorship across select below-the-line departments on select NBCUniversal film projects around the world.
