Theme Park Insider Awards Recognizes UDX with Best New Attraction, Best Roller Coaster and Best Theme Park

The Universal Creative teams across Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood were recently recognized with three awards at the annual Theme Park Insider Awards.

Best New Attraction: Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge
Universal Studios Hollywood unveiled Super Nintendo World on February 17, 2023. Anchored by Mario Kart: Bowsers Challenge, fans join their favorite characters; Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach to battle Team Bowser while steering through underwater courses and courses in the clouds, collecting coins and throwing shells to win the Golden Cup.
Guests with a Power-Up Band can enjoy an enhanced experience when riding Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge by tapping their band on the ride vehicle’s steering wheel – enabling them to track digital coins collected. Power-Up Bands are available in multiple design options with character themes and can be purchased within the land and at SUPER NINTENDO WORLD retail shops located within the theme park.
Best Roller Coaster: Jurassic World VelociCoaster
Jurassic World VelociCoaster at Universal Islands of Adventure has once again been named the world’s best roller coaster by Theme Park Insider. Jurassic World VelociCoaster is the fastest and tallest launch coaster in Florida. At the very start of the ride, guests will launch 70mph in just 2.4 seconds through the Raptor paddock, barely missing the Raptors and being way too close for comfort.
