NBC Sports’ presentation of the 126th U.S. Open from Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y., was the second-most watched east coast U.S. Open since 2013, capped by Wyndham Clark capturing his second U.S. Open Championship Trophy by one stroke over Sam Burns, with the audience peaking at 9.3 million viewers on NBC and Peacock from 6:30-6:45 p.m. ET.
Sunday’s final round coverage on NBC and Peacock (Noon-7:09 p.m. ET) averaged 5.5 million viewers to rank as the second-most watched east coast final round since 2013, and up 2% from last year’s final round (5.4 million viewers, weather-impacted at Oakmont Country Club), based on official Nielsen Big Data + Panel and digital data from Adobe Analytics.
Coverage of the final three rounds on NBC and Peacock from Friday-Sunday averaged 3.9 million viewers -- up 2% from last year and ranking as the second-most watched east coast U.S. Open (second through final rounds) since 2013.

- Friday’s second round coverage (1:30-8:16 p.m. ET) averaged 2.5 million viewers on NBC and Peacock, marking the most-watched east coast U.S. Open round 2 since 2002 (Tiger Woods leading at Bethpage, N.Y.) and the most-watched U.S. Open second round regardless of location since 2012 (Tiger Woods tied for lead at Olympic Club in San Francisco).
- Saturday’s third-round coverage (Noon-8:19 p.m. ET) averaged 3.7 million viewers on NBC and Peacock, up 3% from last year.
- Led by Peacock, the 2026 U.S. Open was NBC Sports’ most-streamed golf event on record, with overall consumption up 13% vs. last year.
