With the First Streaming-Exclusive NFL Playoff Game, Peacock Continues to Pioneer in Streaming Sports

Super Wild Card Weekend is the latest milestone in NBCUniversal’s long history of innovation

This Saturday, January 13, Peacock will host the first-ever streaming-exclusive NFL Wild Card game between the Miami Dolphins and the Kansas City Chiefs. Additionally, fans can also stream NBC’s other two Super Wild Card Weekend matches on the platform. Peacock's Super Wild Card Weekend

With three of Super Wild Card Weekend's six games streaming on Peacock (two simulcast with NBC, one exclusive to Peacock), the platform continues to lead by bringing fans the biggest sporting events from the world’s leading leagues. 

Here are the games to watch on Peacock this weekend:

Saturday at 4:30PM ET | Cleveland Browns vs. Houston Texans | Peacock, NBC & Telemundo

This Saturday, Peacock will stream Super Bowl XLVII MVP Joe Flacco and the Cleveland Browns vs. C.J. Stroud and the AFC South-champion Houston Texans from NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, at 4:30 p.m. ET. 

Saturday at 8PM ET | Miami Dolphins vs. Kansas City Chiefs | Peacock Exclusive

Later that night, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs host Tua Tagovailoa, Tyreek Hill and Miami Dolphins at 8 p.m. ET on Peacock in the first-ever streaming-exclusive live NFL playoff game. 

Sunday at 8PM ET | Los Angeles Rams vs. Detroit Lions | Peacock, NBC & Universo

On Sunday, Jared Goff and the NFC North-champion Detroit Lions host their first home playoff game in 30 years against Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams from Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan, Sunday at 8 p.m. ET.

New Peacock Original Series

From the first-ever sports telecast to this weekend's marquee NFL playoff matchup, check out the list below to see how NBCUniversal has been bringing fans their favorite sports for almost 100 years.

January 1, 1927 – NBC radio broadcasts the 1927 Rose Bowl between Stanford University and University of Alabama two months after the debut of the radio network. This was the first coast-to-coast broadcast in American history.

September 30, 1939 – NBCs broadcast the first live televised football game. Bill Stern called the historic game between Waynesburg University and Fordham University from Triborough Stadium in Randall’s Island, New York.

October 22, 1939 – NBC broadcasts the first televised professional football game in which the Brooklyn Dodgers defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 23-14.

October 1964 – NBC broadcasts the Olympics for the first time from Tokyo.

February 2006 – NBC Sports streams its first Olympics event (hockey) on NBCSports.com live from the Torino Winter Games.

August 2008 – NBC Sports streams 1000 live hours of the Beijing Olympics online for the first time.

February 5, 2012 – NBC Sports and the NFL partner to live stream the Super Bowl for the first time.

July 2012 – NBC Sports streams every event LIVE from the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

August 2020 – Peacock streams its first exclusive Premier League match in partnership with NBC Sports: a 2-0 Newcastle win over West Ham United. 

January 2021 – Peacock livestreams the 2020 AFC Wild Card game between the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers, Peacock’s first live NFL game.

June 2021 – Fifty-seven years after NBC’s first Olympics broadcast from Tokyo, Peacock streams the Olympics for the first time live from Tokyo.

February 2022 – NBCUniversal hosted the first-ever “Super Gold Sunday,” airing Super Bowl LVI and the Beijing Winter Olympics on NBC and Peacock. As part of this weekend, Peacock also launched its hit original series Bel-Air and the Jennifer Lopez romantic comedy Marry Me the same day it premiered in theaters. 

August 2022 – NBC Sports’ Big Ten college sports rights deal is announced, including livestreams and exclusive football and basketball games on Peacock launching Fall 2023.

November-December 2022 – Peacock streams Telemundo’s Spanish-language coverage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. 

December 2023 – Peacock streams its first-ever exclusive NFL game, a nail-biter between the Buffalo Bills and the Los Angeles Chargers.
