USA-Mexico Propels Telemundo to No. 1 Spanish-Language Broadcast Network in Saturday Total Day and Primetime among Total Viewers

Telemundo’s presentation of USA vs. Mexico on Saturday, October 3 delivered a Total Audience Delivery (TAD) of 2.6 million viewers across Telemundo, Universo and streaming platforms, ranking as Telemundo’s most-watched U.S. Men’s National Team friendly in TAD and the most-streamed since the network acquired U.S. Soccer Spanish-language rights in 2023.
Total Audience Delivery increased +32% compared to the previous USA-Mexico friendly on Telemundo in 2023 (1.97 million), driven by significant streaming growth. The match delivered 24% of its total audience through digital platforms, up 15 percentage points from the prior Mexico match in 2023.
On linear television, USA-Mexico ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language television sports event of the week, averaging 1.7 million total viewers, peaking at 2.14 million total viewers in the 10:45PM ET and 11:30PM ET quarter-hours. The telecast propelled Telemundo to the No. 1 Spanish-language broadcast network in both Saturday Total Day and Primetime among total viewers. In addition, Telemundo’s broadcast out performed the English-language delivery on TNT and truTV by +179% among total viewers to capture a 74% share of the combined audience.
The strong sports weekend continued Sunday, October 4, with Telemundo’s presentation of El Clasico de México featuring Chivas vs. América, which averaged 738,000 total viewers. The match increased +29% among total viewers compared to the previous Chivas-América friendly match on Telemundo on October 13, 2024.
