The 2026-27 Premier League Season Kicks Off in One Month Across Platforms of NBCUniversal, with NBC Sports’ Studio Team On-Site in U.K.
Premier League had more players (182) in 2026 FIFA World Cup than any league; Erling Haaland (7 World Cup goals for Norway) and Manchester City host Bournemouth on opening weekend.

The 2026-27 Premier League season kicks off in one month across the platforms of NBCUniversal and Versant’s USA Network. The opening match on Friday, Aug. 21 at 3 p.m. ET on USA Network features reigning Premier League Manager of the Season Mikel Arteta, Golden Glove winner David Raya, England World Cup midfielder Declan Rice, and defending champions Arsenal hosting Coventry City, who return to the Premier League under Frank Lampard for the first time in 25 years.
For the fourth consecutive year, NBC Sports’ Premier League Live studio team of Rebecca Lowe, Robbie Earle, Robbie Mustoe, and Tim Howard will be in the U.K. for special on-site, pitch-side shows on the season’s opening weekend. Coverage begins on Friday, Aug. 21 at 2 p.m. ET from Emirates Stadium ahead of Arsenal-Coventry City, Saturday, Aug. 22 at 7 a.m. ET from Gtech Community Stadium leading up to Brentford-Spurs, and Sunday, Aug. 23 at 8 a.m. ET from St. James’ Park ahead of Newcastle-Liverpool.
Showcasing more FIFA World Cup players than any other league (182 played in the league last season or are set to feature this upcoming season), the 2026-27 Premier League season includes football’s biggest stars.
Highlighting opening weekend coverage (full match schedule below) is newly promoted Hull City hosting Player of the Season Bruno Fernandes and Manchester United on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. ET on USA Network in Michael Carrick’s first match as the club’s full-time manager. Fellow promoted side Ipswich Town begin their campaign against Sunderland on Saturday at 10 a.m. ET on Peacock. Tottenham Hotspur, who narrowly avoided relegation last season, visit Brentford on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
Last season’s Golden Boot winner and Norway World Cup star Erling Haaland and midfielder Rodri, who won the Golden Ball as Spain won the 2026 World Cup, lead Manchester City as they begin the post-Pep Guardiola era at home against Bournemouth on Sunday at 9 a.m. ET on USA Network. Liverpool, under new manager Andoni Iraola, travel to Newcastle United on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. ET on USA Network, while Chelsea make the short trip to Fulham on Monday at 3 p.m. ET on USA Network.
