Summer Standouts Dominate Broadcast and Streaming
NBCUniversal currently boasts the #1 broadcast show and the #1 streaming reality series of the summer to date with America’s Got Talent on NBC and Love Island USA on Peacock. NBC’s Tuesday lineup has also emerged as the #1 entertainment night of the summer, underscoring the network’s continued dominance in primetime.
America’s Got Talent remains a powerhouse, ranking as the #1 most-watched entertainment series of the summer in total viewers. The show is on track to mark its 20th consecutive year as the #1 broadcast summer alternative series.
New Formats, Big Impact
The new competition series Destination X premiered on May 27 to 4.2 million viewers on NBC and more than doubled its reach to 9 million across platforms in its second week. It now ranks as NBC’s top alternative series launch on Peacock to date, based on 26-day average audience viewing.
Meanwhile, Love Island USA continues to break records on Peacock, holding the title of #1 streaming reality series for two consecutive weeks and ranking as the #2 streaming original title during the week of June 9. Season seven has already surpassed 1 billion minutes viewed across just its first nine episodes.
Global Originals Make Waves
Universal Television’s scripted content is also making a global impact. We Were Liars debuted June 18 as the #1 series globally on Prime Video, followed closely by The Waterfront, which hit #1 on Netflix’s Global Top 10 just one day later.
The Gilded Age (Season 3), a co-production with HBO, premiered June 22 and quickly rose to the #1 spot on Max within 24 hours.
From Universal International Studios, The Survivors launched June 6 and reached #2 on Netflix’s Global Top 10 with 9 million views, landing in the Top 10 in 85 countries.
Earlier in the quarter, The Four Seasons debuted at #1 across Netflix’s Global Top 10 (film & TV combined) with 11.9 million views during its opening weekend.
