NBCUniversal Wins 20 Emmy Awards for 'Saturday Night Live', 'Hacks', and 'The Traitors'
NBCUniversal shows and stars won big at the 2025 Emmy Awards.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has revealed the winners of the 77th Primetime Emmy® Awards, with NBCUniversal earning 20 wins across all three ceremonies, which include:
- 12 for Saturday Night Live
- SNL50: The Anniversary Special: Outstanding Variety Special (LIVE), Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Picture Editing for a Variety Programming (Segment), Outstanding Hairstyling for a Variety, Nonfiction or Reality Program, Outstanding Makeup for a Variety, Nonfiction or Reality Program, Outstanding Technical Direction and Camerawork for a Special, Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Variety Series Or Special and Outstanding Emerging Media Program (SNL50: The Anniversary Special: Immersive Experience),
- Saturday Night Live: Outstanding Production Design for Variety or Reality Series, Outstanding Lighting Design/Lighting Direction for a Series, and Outstanding Technical Direction and Camerawork for a Special
- 5 for The Traitors:

NBCUniversal stars were featured throughout the programming of the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday night, including a comedy sketch featuring Saturday Night Live cast members Bowen Yang, Mikey Day, and James Austin Johnson.
Plus, in honor of Law & Order's 35th anniversary, the show’s stars Mariska Hargitay, Chris Meloni, Ice-T, Tony Goldwyn, and S. Epatha Merkerson presented Outstanding Drama Series.
Reba McEntire (Happy's Place) performed The Golden Girls theme song, celebrating the show’s 40th anniversary. Presenters also included Tina Fey (The Four Seasons), Colman Domingo (The Four Seasons), Alan Cumming (The Traitors), and Julianne Nicholson (Hacks).
The evening also honored Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen, stars of A Man on the Inside and real-life married couple, as they received the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award – presented by The Good Place’s creator Michael Schur (also A Man on the Inside creator/showrunner) alongside star Kristen Bell – in recognition of their lifelong philanthropy, activism, and unwavering commitment to making a global impact.
NBCUniversal received 72 Emmy Award nominations this season, including a record-setting 31 nominations for the Saturday Night Live franchise as it extends its lead as the most nominated show ever.
SNL's 50th Anniversary wins for Outstanding Variety Series (Live) 50 Years after Lorne Michaels Won His First Emmy
In total, SNL took home 12 Emmy wins, including Outstanding Variety Series (Live), Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming (Segment), Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Makeup for a Variety, Nonfiction or Reality Program, Outstanding Hairstyling for a Variety, Nonfiction or Reality Program , Outstanding Technical Direction and Camerawork for a Special, Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Variety Series or Special, Outstanding Emerging Media Program for SNL50: The Anniversary Special: Immersive Experience, Outstanding Production Design for a Variety or Reality Series, Outstanding Lighting Design/Lighting Direction for a Series, and Outstanding Technical Direction and Camerawork for a Series.
Jean Smart takes home Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series at the 2025 Emmy Awards for Hacks
This is smart's fourth Emmy for her performance as the comedian Deborah Vance. Hacks took home three Emmy awards including, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy series for Jean Smart, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Hannah Einbinder, and Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for Julianne Nicholson.
The Traitors secures the win for Outstanding Reality Competition Program
The Traitors took home five Emmy Awards including Outstanding Reality Competition Program, Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program for Alan Cumming, Outstanding Directing for a Reality Program, Outstanding Cinematography for a Reality Program, and Outstanding Picture Editing for a Structured Reality or Competition Program.
