NBC News Unveils Comprehensive Cross-Platform Coverage for 2026 Midterms, Beginning Tuesday With Primary Elections

NBC News will begin its 2026 midterm elections coverage Tuesday, March 3, with live results, on-the-ground reporting and data-driven analysis for the Texas, North Carolina and Arkansas primaries across streaming, digital and social platforms.

Special network live coverage will begin streaming at 8 p.m ET on NBC News NOW, led by Meet the Press Moderator Kristen Welker and Hallie Jackson NOW Anchor and Senior Washington Correspondent Hallie Jackson, joined by Chief Data Analyst Steve Kornacki at the Big Board, Senior White House Correspondent Garrett Haake and Chief Capitol Hill Correspondent Ryan Nobles. 

Expanded “Kornacki Cam” to Kick off Night at 7:30pm ET, Serving as Signature Feature of NBC News’ Cross-Platform Election Coverage

Kornacki will lead the network’s real-time data analysis, with an expansion of the breakout “Kornacki Cam” that will bring viewers behind the scenes on election night. Kicking off at 7:30 p.m. ET and staying live throughout the night as races are called, NBC News will stream the extended “Kornacki Cam” live across YouTube, NBCNews.com, the NBC News app and NBC News’ Instagram, Facebook and TikTok accounts. The immersive experience features multiple camera angles, including a dedicated view of Kornacki at the Big Board and a new podium perspective, giving audiences an unfiltered look at real-time vote analysis as votes are counted.

Correspondents will be covering on the ground from key races, including Capitol Hill Correspondent Melanie Zanona at state Attorney General Ken Paxton HQ in Dallas also covering U.S. Sen. John Cornyn and U.S. Rep. Wesley Hunt, Correspondent Ryan Chandler at state Rep. James Talarico HQ in Austin and Correspondent Priscilla Thompson at U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett HQ in Dallas.

Following the NBC News NOW special, NBC News’ podcast Here’s the Scoop will stream on NBC News NOW, YouTube and NBCNews.com. Host Yasmin Vossoughian will break down the latest results alongside Kornacki and Senior National Political Reporter Jonathan Allen, Senior Political Reporter Jane C. Timm and Senior National Political Reporter Natasha Korecki. NBC News NOW is accessible across dozens of platforms, including NBCNews.com, NBCNews.com/Watch and Peacock.

Throughout the 2026 election cycle, NBC News will deploy this integrated coverage strategy across all major primary and special election nights in March, April, May, June and August, with select dates featuring a hybrid of NBC News NOW programming and the dedicated “Kornacki Cam” streaming experience. The model will scale through the November 2026 midterm elections.
