Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, continues to drive meaningful economic and workforce impact in Nevada through its hit series Hacks, underscoring the power of production to support local communities and businesses.

Filmed in Las Vegas, the show has generated significant investment in the state. Hacks season five alone employed more than 1,100 Nevada residents, supported nearly 300 businesses across the state, and injected millions into the Nevada economy.

To celebrate the show’s impact, NBCUniversal partnered with the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and its Film Nevada division to host a special screening of the Hacks season five finale, followed by a panel discussion with industry and state leaders. Moderated by Film Nevada Deputy Director Danette Tull, the panel featured Hacks Executive Producer Morgan Sackett, Universal Television Senior Vice President of Production Michael Swanson, and Film Nevada Director Kim Spurgeon, and focused on workforce development opportunities, local hiring, and the long-term economic benefits of production in Nevada.

At the event, Las Vegas Mayor Shelley Berkley presented the production with custom “Deborah Vance Way” street signs in honor of the show’s iconic character and proclaimed May 28, 2026, as “Hacks Day.”

The impact of Hacks extends beyond the screen, fueling job creation, supporting small businesses, and reinforcing Nevada’s position as a best-in-class production destination. Across the country, NBCUniversal productions support local hiring, engage businesses and vendors, and contribute to economic growth in the communities where they film.
