Telemundo Kicks Off "One Year to Go" To FIFA World Cup 26™

The FIFA World Cup 2026™ kicks off on June 11, 2026, across the United States, Mexico, and Canada—and fans can catch every match, every moment, live across Telemundo, the exclusive Spanish-language home of the tournament in the U.S. Leading up to the "One Year to Go" celebration and as part of the Rumbo al Mundial franchise, Telemundo will deliver wall-to-wall coverage of USMNT friendlies and Argentina and Brazil’s FIFA World Cup 2026™ qualifiers led by an enhanced lineup of expert commentators. 

The week-long celebration kicks off LIVE on Saturday, June 7, at 3 p.m. ET with pregame coverage on Telemundo, Universo and Peacock, followed by USMNT vs. Turkey at 3:30 p.m. ET on Telemundo, Universo and Peacock called by eight-time Emmy Award winner Andres Cantor with analysis by professional soccer coach Natalia Astrain. 

The action continues Tuesday, June 10 with Argentina vs. Colombia live at 7:55 p.m. ET on Telemundo (Andres Cantor & Diego Balado), USMNT vs. Switzerland live at 8 p.m. ET on Peacock (Jorge Calvo & Natalia Astrain), and Brazil v. Paraguay live at 8:40 p.m. ET on Universo (Luis Omar Tapia & Eduardo Biscayart).   

Telemundo will bring the excitement of the “One Year To Go” celebrations to audiences across its top daytime shows and newscasts with exclusive content, live reports, and special segments from across the U.S., Mexico, and Canada on Wednesday, June 11.  

Hoy Día, En Casa con Telemundo, and La Mesa Caliente will broadcast live from Telemundo Center’s Fan Fest, a lively celebration featuring a live audience, interactive games, dance performances, food demonstrations, and special appearances by Telemundo Deportes talent. In the afternoon, Gabriel Coronel dives into the party from Telemundo’s “Floating Fútbol Celebration” — an unforgettable, Miami experience filled with music, FIFA legends, Telemundo talent and fútbol fun on the water. 

In addition to the festivities in Miami, viewers can look forward to vibrant on-the-ground reports from key host cities across North America, capturing the local flavor and fan excitement building in each region: 

  • Los Angeles: Lourdes Stephen brings the energy live from Los Angeles, capturing the heart of the action on the West Coast with local fans and community celebrations with studio coverage from Jessica Carrillo for Al Rojo Vivo
  • Mexico City: Clovis Nienow joins the festivities from the shadow of the legendary Estadio Azteca, sharing the vibrant atmosphere and local pride as Mexico gears up for the big year ahead. 
  • Toronto: From the iconic sights of Canada’s largest city, Pancho Uresti delivers lively segments and live hits that showcase how the excitement is spreading north of the border. 
  • New York City: Genesis Suero goes live from the Big Apple, bringing viewers into the heart of the Final's host city surrounded by the its unmistakable energy and passion for the beautiful game. 

News Programming Highlights 

  • Noticias Mediodía: Live report by Issa Osorio from Estadio Azteca, highlighting the stadium's renovations, including expanded seating, upgraded locker rooms, and state-of-the-art technology. 
  • Noticias Telemundo 6:30 PM: Report by Rogelio Mora-Tagle featuring stories of fan preparation, community anticipation, and the growing support among Latino fans for the USMNT.  

To wrap up each day, El Pelotazo, Telemundo’s dynamic and fast-paced late-night sports show, will offer daily recaps of all the action hosted by Veronica Rodriguez, Diego Arrioja and Pablo Mariño exclusively on Telemundo.
