January 29, 2026

NBCUniversal's Peacock is rolling out innovations to its streaming platform just in time to cover the action-packed 17 days of Legendary February. With Peacock's new viewing experiences Rinkside Live and Courtside Live; immersive sound; new interactive features specially developed for the Olympics, including Olympics Trivia and Olympics Picks; and amazing picture quality on Feb. 8 with NBC and Peacock "4K All Day," sports fans will have all they need to keep up to date and fully immersed in three of the biggest events in all of sports.

As the comprehensive streaming home of the Olympics in the U.S., Peacock will present thousands of hours of NBC Sports' coverage of the Milan Cortina Olympic Winter Games Feb. 6-22 through a dedicated Olympics hub, as well as unprecedented coverage of Super Bowl LX on Feb. 8 and the 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend Feb. 13-15.

Rinkside Live Peacock

Rinkside Live and Courtside Live bring fans even closer to the action

Rinkside Live is a first-of-its-kind Peacock feature rolling out for the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympic Winter Games that will give fans unprecedented multi-feed access to the Winter Games in Italy. Optimized for mobile, Rinkside Live will offer curated streams for select events of two marquee sports – ice hockey and figure skating – with new angles of some of the biggest moments on and off ice. The new feature will also give fans access to live behind-the-scenes footage, including "Coaching Cam" with a live feed of each skater's coaching area, "Training Room," and the Kiss & Cry area. Ice hockey fans will be able to tune into "Bench Cam," capturing player reactions and heated rivalries from each team's bench during the match. Rinkside and Courtside Live will also feature a "Highlights Hub" giving fans a vertical playlist of recent highlights to catch up on key moments.

Peacock's Live in Browse feature, vertical video playlists, and mobile mini-games, all of which launched last year, will be available for the first time for the Olympics. Real-time Winter Olympics Highlights will showcase the action from Milan Cortina, while Olympics mini-games will include specific Prediction Games for figure skating and ice hockey: a daily Olympics Picks game spanning multiple events each day; and Olympics Trivia, which will feature questions about athletes, sports, and the history of the Olympics. In an industry first, Peacock will introduce Mobile Multiview in beta during the Winter Games.

For the first time ever, viewers will be able to share content from the Peacock mobile app directly to friends via text and social networks, turning live viewing into a social experience by letting fans compete, compare, and celebrate in real time, without ever leaving the stream. Sharable content includes Olympic highlight clips, Olympics Trivia and Prediction Game results.

Popular features from Peacock's award-winning Paris Olympics experience will return for the Milan Cortina Winter Games, including Gold Zone, Discovery Multiview, Live Actions, in-page sports hubs, an interactive schedule, medal standings, and expanded search.

Peacock Courtside live

First announced last year, Courtside Live is a new NBA viewing experience from Peacock debuting during the 2026 NBA US vs World All-Star Game on Feb. 15 at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT. It will also be available for select NBA games throughout the rest of the season. On mobile, fans can navigate between a selection of curated feeds of alternate game angles. On TV and web, Courtside Live will show those same available angles in a Multiview experience. "Star Spotlight" highlights standout players in a game while "Home Team" and "Away Team" views let fans catch player reactions from each team's bench. Meanwhile, "Hot Highlights" curates moments from the game and beyond including key plays, interviews, celebrity fans in the stands, league context, and more. For the entire weekend of the NBA All-Star, fans can enjoy Peacock features that launched with the NBA's return to NBC, including Can't Miss Highlights, Peacock ScoreCard, Live in Browse, and Catch Up with Key Plays

For Super Bowl LX on Feb. 8, football fans can take full advantage of Peacock features including Catch Up with Key Plays and Live Actions to follow every snap and discover other content across Peacock. Also available in 4K.

Peacock 4K

NBC and Peacock Will Be "4K All Day" Feb. 8 for Super Bowl LX and the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games

On Sunday, February 8, NBCUniversal will present Super Bowl LX and the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympic Winter Games live all day in 4K HDR on NBC and Peacock. This marks the first time a Super Bowl and Olympic Games will be presented in 4K HDR on the NBC broadcast network and the Peacock streaming service. Feb. 8 begins with live Winter Olympics coverage starting at 7 a.m. ET on NBC and Peacock, followed by Super Bowl pregame coverage at noon ET, game coverage at 6:30 p.m. ET, and finishes with Primetime in Milan beginning at approximately 10:45 p.m. ET – providing fans with 17 hours of 4K HDR coverage on the biggest day in sports.

Unprecedented coverage means unprecedented infrastructure

Legendary February couldn't be legendary without the back-end capabilities and systems of Comcast NBCUniversal. Behind the scenes, Peacock operates its own live streaming control system, dubbed internally as The Dial, which allows the platform to scale up for tentpole events like the Super Bowl and Olympics, and scale back down in days rather than weeks. That flexibility is critical during Legendary February, when Peacock will:

  • Run dozens of simultaneous live events
  • Absorb massive audience surges across multiple moments each day
  • Deliver precise ad insertion without disrupting streams

The combination of concurrent live events, audience unpredictability, and dynamic ad insertion is a challenge no other streamer faces at this frequency or intensity, and one Peacock designed its platform to solve from day one.

That unprecedented drive for quality at scale informs production as well. NBC Sports' production design for Legendary February is unprecedented in scope and coverage, featuring more angles of the action, more insights about the athletes, and better sound and video quality than ever before.

Peacock Olympics

Peacock's immersive new features will debut for Legendary February, but that's just the beginning of the innovations on offer this year. Peacock's streaming experience also offers Peacock Performance View during NBA games; daily mini-games like Wheel of Fortune TODAY; Prediction Games for The Traitors and Premier League, and Can't Miss Clips, which are curated vertical video playlists across NBC's biggest shows, movies, sports, and news.

Peacock's expansive sports programming features live coverage including Sunday Night Football, the Olympic and Paralympic Games, NBA, Big Ten football and basketball, Notre Dame Football, BIG EAST basketball, Big 12 basketball, Premier League, golf, the WNBA beginning in 2026, MLB in 2026, La Copa Mundial de la FIFA 2026, and much more. Peacock also offers daily sports programming on the NBC Sports channel. It's all part of the expansive technology and storytelling experience Comcast NBCUniversal brings to the world of live sports.
