“Love Cup,” the crossover of the summer’s two biggest cultural events – Love Island USA season 8 and FIFA World Cup 2026TM – converged to drive June 2026 as Peacock’s biggest month for viewership in its history, with fans tuning in every day to cheer on their favorite couples or teams. In addition to huge viewership on living room devices, Peacock also saw the most mobile viewing in its history in June, with mobile usage 75% higher than average, indicating fans were tuning in from wherever they are, so they didn’t miss a moment.

The biggest moments of the summer were happening in real time on Peacock. Between near-daily live FIFA World Cup 2026 matches and new Love Island USA episodes dropping six nights a week alongside the platform’s broad content portfolio, fans were streaming on Peacock every day.

Love Island USA drove highest day one viewing hours of any franchise on Peacock as fans tuned in to take part in the live cultural conversation.

  • More than 30% of viewers this season were new to the Love Island franchise - with nearly one-third of those coming in first to watch Sports - while nearly 30% of viewing occurred on mobile devices, making it one of Peacock's largest mobile audiences ever for an entertainment series.
  • Record-breaking 65 billion total minutes streamed of the first 96 live FIFA World Cup 2026 games in Spanish on Peacock. The Mexico vs. England match on July 5th delivered the most-watched soccer match ever in Spanish-Language media history in total audience on Peacock and Telemundo. The Quarterfinal stage was the biggest in Spanish-language media history, up 154% over the Quarterfinal stage of the 2022 tournament.
  • Fandom has no barriers: The tournament is proving that Spanish-language viewing is a primary destination for soccer fans, capturing nearly half of all U.S. World Cup viewers.
  • Love Island USA powers the digital water cooler: Season to-date, Love Island USA has boasted over 4 billion video views across social channels and ranks as the #1 social program since its launch.
  • Cultural cross-over: While each of these cultural phenomena drew massive audiences on its own, 40% of Peacock viewers who watched Love Island USA also watched the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Fueling Discovery on Peacock

Viewership of Peacock content outside of Love Island USA and FIFA World Cup 2026 remained consistent the entire month, meaning fans were still streaming other series and films on Peacock in addition to their Love Cup appointment viewing. Both events alsobrought younger, diverse audiences to Peacock that lifted the broader platform.

  • Throughout the duration of World Cup, Peacock drew 4x its normal share of Hispanic viewers. Those viewers who watched World Cup also watched a variety of Peacock content, including Telemundo entertainment (e.g., El Señor de los Cielos), Peacock originals (e.g., Love Island USA, MIA, Five Star Weekend), Sports (e.g., MLB), and library content (e.g., Yellowstone, The Office).
  • Love Island USA continues to drive discovery for Bravo, bringing new viewers to shows like Next Gen NYC, Below Deck Mediterranean and The McBee Dynasty.

Meeting Fans and Brands Where They Are

Peacock’s mobile app housed a suite of experiences that gave fans more ways to play along and more access to the content they love. In June, 40% of mobile viewers engaged with mobile games on Peacock. Peacock supported millions of fans coming to the platform in real time without a moment of downtime, using Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision technology for the highest-quality audio and visual.

  • Love Island USA companion experiences returned for another season, bringing back Reality Picks daily predictions and Can’t Miss Clips playlists for fans to keep up with the daily drama.
  • The FIFA World Cup 2026 was the most mobile yet. Fans were met with a new viewing option, Visión de Campo, which provided dedicated cameras for each team and got them closer to the players, as well as trivia and brackets for the quarterfinals onward, and Can’t Miss Highlights with real-time clips of every match – all available in Spanish for the first time.
  • From the Villa to the World Cup pitch, advertisers made NBCUniversal their summer destination with Love Island USA and the FIFA World Cup 2026 driving unprecedented demand across Peacock and Telemundo.
  • To date, Love Island USA has attracted 1,000+ media partners and counting, including 7 integrated partners, 3 branded challenges, and 9 brands executing custom content.
  • The FIFA World Cup 2026 has drawn 120+ advertisers and counting, with double the advertiser spend compared to the 2022 tournament and the largest Spanish-language advertising deals on record, spanning alcohol, auto, QSR, telecom, finance and more.
  • That momentum translated into meaningful business results, with advertisers seeing strong double-digit lifts across key purchase funnel metrics for both Love Island USA and World Cup sponsors.
  • NBCUniversal’s summer tentpoles connected brands with one of the most valuable and hardest-to-reach audiences Gen-Z.  Across Love Island USA and the FIFA World Cup 2026, younger viewers showed up at scale, engaging deeply with both the content and advertisers.
  • Among Gen-Z audiences, Love Island USA ranks as the #1 program across streaming by both reach and minutes viewed, reaching 6 million unique Gen Z viewers in its first four weeks, up 16% versus the same period last season. Additionally, nearly half of the show's audience is Gen Z; viewers are nearly 3X more likely to be Gen Z than the streaming viewership norm.

  • On Peacock, one in three FIFA World Cup viewers are Gen-Z, and they are especially receptive to brands: +21% more likely to feel loyal to World Cup advertisers and +24% more likely to view World Cup advertising as more credible than other ads.

While Love Island USA season 8 has come to a close, fans can watch the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final on Telemundo and Peacock Sunday, July 19, and look forward to the Love Island USA Season 8 Reunion streaming on Peacock Monday, August 31.
