Universal Studios Lot Will Add Soundstages as Film and TV Production Surges
November 15, 2021
NBCUniversal recently announced some exciting news about future production growth on the Universal Studios lot. The company is building eight new soundstages to meet their growing business needs and to further their position as a preeminent creative production hub in Los Angeles.
Located near Gate 4 along Barham Blvd., the 144,000 square feet of owned and operated soundstages with 48,000 square feet of adjacent base camp space will help meet the company’s increasing demand for production facilities and add to the diverse set of services the Universal Studios Lot offers to the creative community.
When these new stages are completed in mid-2022, the total number of stages on the property will grow to 37 in addition to their 30 iconic backlot locations.
This latest project demonstrates the company’s commitment to investing in their core production business and creating the workplace of tomorrow with the construction of The Campus Project underway.
