‘The Traitors’ Expands Across NBCUniversal With ‘New Blood’ on NBC and Three More Seasons on Peacock
With more than 22 million viewers reached across the franchise, a new iteration on NBC and three additional seasons coming to Peacock, NBCUniversal is building on the Emmy-winning success of ‘The Traitors’.
October 09, 2026
Since The Traitors premiered on Peacock in 2023, the Emmy-winning reality competition series has become a growing part of NBCUniversal’s entertainment portfolio, bringing together recognizable personalities, passionate fans and audiences across streaming and now broadcast television.
With the launch of The Traitors: New Blood on NBC and a three-season renewal of the original series on Peacock, NBCUniversal is introducing the franchise to new audiences while continuing to build on the format that established its U.S. following.
Early results reflect that growth. Within its first two weeks, The Traitors: New Blood brought more than 7 million new cross-platform viewers to the franchise, increasing its total reach by 45% to more than 22 million viewers.
Together, they mark the next chapter for a franchise defined by its Emmy-winning format, Alan Cumming’s unmistakable presence as host and a world that continues to attract talent, audiences and cultural attention.
A New Traitors Has Arrived on NBC
Since its U.S. debut on Peacock in 2023, The Traitors has brought together personalities from across reality television, entertainment and sports. Following a first season featuring both celebrities and everyday contestants, the series evolved into an all-celebrity competition.
Now, NBC opened that experience to a new group of players.
The Traitors: New Blood brings everyday Americans into the game while retaining the deception, strategy and signature elements audiences know from the Peacock series. The new series introduces The Traitors to a broader broadcast audience while offering existing fans a different way into the franchise.
More than 80,000 people applied for the opportunity to compete, with 22 ultimately entering the castle.
Early viewership demonstrates how the new series is expanding the franchise’s audience. Within its first two weeks, New Blood brought more than 7 million new cross-platform viewers to The Traitors, with 65% of its multiplatform audience new to the franchise. Broadcast television accounted for the largest share of that audience.
The series is also reaching viewers on streaming. According to Nielsen, New Blood ranked as the No. 1 next-day broadcast season on streaming during the week of September 21, based on minutes viewed. Across social media, the series generated 127 million video views through its first three weeks.
Peacock Is Building on The Traitors Format Audiences Already Know
While The Traitors reaches a new audience on NBC, Peacock is continuing to invest in the series that first built the franchise’s U.S. following.
Peacock recently renewed The Traitors for three additional seasons, extending the celebrity edition of the series with Alan Cumming returning as host.
The renewal follows the franchise’s biggest season to date. Season 4 finished with viewership up 72% over Season 3 and generated 8.1 billion minutes viewed, ranking as the No. 2 streaming original reality series of 2026 to date. During its run, the series ranked as the No. 1 streaming original reality title for five consecutive weeks and generated more than 366 million social video views.
The way audiences watch also reflects the series’ growing appeal. More than half of Season 4 viewers (56%) watched The Traitors with someone else, making it Peacock’s No. 1 unscripted title for co-viewing. The series has become a source of conversation and speculation among fans, with audiences following the competition both on screen and across social media.
Alan Cumming Has Helped Define the World of The Traitors
Across each season, Alan Cumming has become central to the identity of the U.S. franchise.
As host, Cumming has helped give The Traitors a look, tone and personality all its own. His theatrical arrival at the castle, distinctive fashion and role overseeing the game have become recognizable elements of the series, while his performance has earned three consecutive Emmys for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program.
Cumming now serves as a connective thread between the original Peacock series and New Blood on NBC, giving audiences something familiar even as the franchise introduces a new kind of player.

The Traitors Has Built a World That Extends Beyond the Series
In 2026, The Traitors won seven Emmys, the most ever in a single year for a competition series, including its third consecutive win for Outstanding Reality Competition Program.
The series has also become a place where different corners of entertainment come together. Across its Peacock seasons, The Traitors has welcomed personalities from some of television’s best-known reality franchises alongside actors, athletes, musicians and other familiar faces.
Recent casts have brought together talent from The Real Housewives, Survivor, Big Brother, The Bachelor, Love Island and RuPaul’s Drag Race, as well as Olympians and entertainers. That mix brings different fan communities into the same world while introducing familiar personalities to new audiences.
NBCUniversal has also continued to give fans more ways to engage with The Traitors beyond the series itself.
Peacock has extended the experience through The Traitors Prediction Game within its mobile app, The Traitors Official Podcast, and watch parties.
Fans have also been able to step into the game themselves. Peacock’s The Traitors Experience, an immersive pop-up where players race through missions to unmask the Traitor, ran in Los Angeles in 2024 and 2025.
This fall, The Traitors: New Blood has taken over both bars at Universal’s Great Movie Escape at Universal CityWalk Orlando, where guests can see costumes worn by Alan Cumming and order cocktails inspired by the NBC series.
Two Iterations, One Growing Traitors Franchise
With The Traitors: New Blood now on NBC and three additional seasons of the original series ahead on Peacock, NBCUniversal is continuing to build on The Traitors across broadcast and streaming.
The early results demonstrate how the franchise is reaching new audiences while maintaining the success of its original Peacock series.
From its Emmy-winning format and recognizable host to new experiences that bring fans closer to the game, The Traitors continues to grow beyond the series that first premiered on Peacock in 2023.
