NBC to Air Nintendo and Illumination’s 'The Super Mario Bros. Movie'
In advance of 'The Super Mario Galaxy Movie', which hits theaters worldwide beginning April 1, NBC will broadcast the blockbuster 2023 film that shattered box-office records and earned more than $1.3 billion worldwide.

NBC will air Nintendo and Illumination’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie on Saturday, March 21 at 8 p.m.
The blockbuster film, released by Universal Pictures in April 2023, shattered box-office records and earned more than $1.3 billion worldwide.
In Nintendo and Illumination’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Brooklyn plumbers Mario and his brother Luigi are transported down a mysterious pipe and wander into a magical new world. But when the brothers are separated, Mario embarks on an epic quest to find Luigi, with the help of Mushroom Kingdom resident Toad and the strong-willed ruler of the Kingdom, Princess Peach.
NBCUniversal recently brought Universal Pictures' Wicked to NBC on November 19 ahead of the theatrical release of its sequel, Wicked: For Good.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie
Universal will release Nintendo and Illumination’s The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, in theaters worldwide beginning April 1.
The new film stars Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black Keegan-Michael Key, Benny Safdie, Kevin Michael Richardson and Brie Larson.
Both the 2023 film and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are produced by Chris Meledandri of Illumination and Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is directed by returning filmmakers Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, from a screenplay by returning screenwriter Matthew Fogel, with Brian Tyler returning to compose the score.
