Comcast NBCU Hosts 2nd Annual Millennial Tech and Change Summit

The annual Millennial Tech & Change Summit brought young innovators, civic changemakers and government leaders together in San Francisco to showcase ideas around technology and innovation. For the second year in a row, Comcast NBCUniversal brought solution-minded millennial entrepreneurs together that use technology to improve their communities. The summit created a forum for young professionals to share their ideas for change, garner insights from seasoned executives, and connect with potential funders and partners.

Diverse founders, tech innovators and socially conscious millennials created fluid conversations regarding the main challenges and hot-button issues facing the social enterprise community. Freada Kapor Klein challenged the status quo of diversity and inclusion at VCs and suggested tactical, practical, realistic solutions. To echo that sentiment, Ellen Pao and Amy Banse passionately spoke about how to create an inclusive tech industry through action.

The highly anticipated Pitch for Purpose session included three social entrepreneurs pitching their startups to a distinguished panel of judges. Ravi Belani, Susan Myers, Aileen Lee and Cong Ding (Comcast Ventures), deliberated and awarded the $25,000 prize to Online SOS – a non-profit focused on providing technology solutions for confidential, professional support to individuals experiencing online harassment.

Comcast NBCUniversal continues to invest in events that bring together entrepreneurs creating social impact. More importantly, gatherings like the Millennial Tech and Change Summit will continue to support and foster conversations on innovation and technology.
