RT25, Rotten Tomatoes 25th anniversary celebration, is in full swing! This month, Rotten Tomatoes is honoring 25 years of fresh picks with a NEW infographic HERE highlighting important dates and fun facts in the RT history. In fact, many don’t realize that Jackie Chan and “Rush Hour” inspired the birth of Rotten Tomatoes, which began as an online startup that aggregated Kung Fu and Anime movie reviews for a niche audience of fans. Other fun facts about Rotten Tomatoes include what year the brand began to cover television shows, which film was the first to garner 500 reviews on the Tomatometer, that the “Top Critics” program originally launched in 1999 as “Cream of the Crop,” and that “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” earned the first-ever Certified Fresh designation.

Whether you’re wanting to take a trip down memory lane or looking to discover something new, RT’s latest content offerings will provide exactly what you need. Fans can now check out the top titles of each year since Rotten Tomatoes’ inception, such as The 25 Best Animated Movies Of Each Year Since 1998 and 25 Best Horror Movies Of Each Year Since 1998 (and visit the site later in May for an overview of the best Sci-Films from the past 25 years). Additionally, fans are able to access the RT25-dedicated hub to enjoy content that spotlights the most beloved movies, TV shows, and talent from the past 25 years.

Also this month, in honor of May being Asian-American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Rotten Tomatoes is offering special content to celebrate the talented AAPI creatives who have provided us with some of the best films and TV shows. New content available via the AAPI Heritage Hub will include an updated look at The 100 Best Asian-American Movies Of All Time, a 2023 TV and Streaming Calendar, an overview of Vietnamese Americans in Hollywood you need to know, a spotlight of 10 Asian-American pioneers in Hollywood, and a list honoring Asian-American female directors.

Can’t get enough of Rotten Tomatoes and want to keep the celebration going? Be sure to check out the brand’s new fast-paced party game Rotten Tomatoes: The Card Game and play RT’s first-ever mobile web trivia game Daily Tomato.

If you plan to include any of these pieces in your coverage, please link back to the RT25 Hub and/or AAPI Heritage Hub, and credit Rotten Tomatoes.
