NBC 4 NEW YORK AND COZI TV OVER-THE-AIR ANTENNA VIEWERS REMINDED TO RESCAN TELEVISIONS, SECURE UPDATED BROADCAST FREQUENCY BY APRIL 2

Press Release

March 02, 2018

NEW YORK, NY – (March 2, 2018) – With NBC 4 New York / WNBC and COZI TV preparing to move their local broadcast signal from the Empire State Building to One World Trade Center next month, local viewers using an over-the-air antenna are reminded to rescan their televisions and secure the new frequency by April 2 to continue receiving NBC 4 New York and COZI TV’s over-the-air programming without any interruptions. Viewers will continue to find WNBC on Channel 4.

This impending change will not impact viewers using cable, satellite or on-line digital platforms such as the NBC 4 New York mobile app.

Viewers using an over-the-air antenna can take the following steps to rescan their television to the new frequency:

  • Press “menu” on their television remote
  • Find either the “channel” or “antenna”, depending on their television
  • Click on either “auto-tune” or “rescan”, depending on their television
  • Let the television automatically adjust (will take between 5 and 15 minutes)

“Rescanning your television is easy and only takes a few minutes. We have made the process clear and easy to understand. We are also making additional information available on-air, on-line and over the phone,” said Eric Lerner, President and General Manager of NBC 4 New York.

Viewers can visit NBCNewYork.com/rescan to access a “how to rescan your television” video tutorial, step-by-step instructions and troubleshooting information. Viewers can also contact NBC 4 New York’s Customer Service at (212) 664-5520 with any questions they may have (phone lines are open during regular business hours). Through April 2, NBC 4 New York and COZI TV will continue airing public service announcements on their broadcast and digital platforms to alert viewers to the impending change and the need to rescan their televisions.

NBC 4 New York and COZI TV’s over-the-air signal will reach an additional one million over-the-air users following their move to One World Trade Center, including in South and Central New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania and the Hudson Valley. Both NBC 4 New York and COZI TV will also join sister station Telemundo 47 / WNJU at One World Trade Center, who activated their new, over-the-air transmitter in June, 2017.
