BRAVO MEDIA DEBUTS NEW SERIES “BELOW DECK MEDITERRANEAN” LAUNCHING ACTIVATIONS IN NEW YORK CITY AND ACROSS DIGITAL PLATFORMS

NEW YORK - May 3, 2016 – Bravo Media is bringing the thrill of the high seas to the streets of New York City and across digital platforms in celebration of “Below Deck Mediterranean” premiering tonightMay 3 at 9pm ET/PT. The network kicks off the new installment of the hit series with a premiere day stunt in New York City, as well as with a “Below Deck Mediterranean” Lens on Snapchat. The nautical experience will continue with a special on-air “Below Deck Mediterranean” Social Edition featuring fans’ Snaps on May 17 at 8pm ET/PT, which is among the first times Snapchat has ever been used as an added integration to a TV show. 

Bravo Media will set sail today at the iconic water fountain located outside of 1251 Avenue of the Americas in New York City, where a crew of “yachties” will fill the fountain to the brim with floating bottles containing special messages. Consumers will be invited to grab a bottle and discover the fun inside – some will include information about the new series while others will reveal prizes and giveaways. On site, as well as nationwide, fans are encouraged to post to Twitter and Instagram describing their dream vacation using the hashtag #BelowDeckSweepstakes. At the end of the day, one winner will be selected and awarded the grand prize of a dream vacation, courtesy of Bravo. The winner will be revealed on social during the premiere of the show.

In addition to making dream vacations a reality, Bravo will let fans cast away with a special “Below Deck Mediterranean” Snapchat Lens, which will leverage multiple trigger technology. When Snapchatters press and hold on their face or a friend’s in the Snapchat camera, they will be fitted with an animated sailor’s cap. Opening their mouth will set off a wave that tosses a starfish onto the Snapchatter’s forehead, while raising an eyebrow will brush away the sea creature. Bravo is the first TV network to leverage this unique type of Lens with multiple, different triggers. Snapchatters in the U.S. can access the sea-tastic Lens today and tomorrow in celebration of the premiere.

The under-the-sea Snapchat action continues with a special “Below Deck Mediterranean” Social Edition. When fans tune in to the second episode on May 10 at 9pm ET/PT, they will be asked to send their nautically-themed Snaps to SnapsByBravo. The network will select the top Snaps and feature them in a Social Edition of the episode airing on May 17 at 8pm ET/PT, among a first-of- its-kind television integration for Snapchat.

To catch the series debut, viewers can tune in tonight to “Below Deck Mediterranean” at 9pm ET/PT. The series follows nine crew members living and working aboard a 150' mega-yacht as it undertakes a new charter season in scenic Greece. With a new boat, new location and new faces, the excitement, drama and adventure of life aboard a private luxury yacht is taken to another level in the Mediterranean.
