“A.P. Bio” Season Three to Upcoming NBCUniversal Streaming Service

  • NBCUniversal’s soon-to-be-launched streaming service will be the home for the third season of Universal Television’s comedy “A.P. Bio.”
  • “I’m so overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from the fans,” said executive producer Mike O’Brien. “The cast and I are thrilled that we get to make more and I’m excited to work with the NBCU streaming platform.”
  • As an indicator of the strong digital performance of “A.P. Bio,” the show’s pilot episode aired in February 2018 to a 0.8 in the 18-49 demo and today stands at a 5.6 (up 600%, with 37% of this total came from long-tail discovery after day 100).
  • Among the younger streaming demo, the pilot launched to a 0.4 in 18-34 rating and now stands at a 5.9 (up +1375%).
  • Season one of “A.P. Bio” was NBC’s most digital-skewing series in the 2017-18 season, with 35% of its 35-day 18-49 audience coming from digital platforms
  • In its most recent season on NBC, “A.P. Bio” generated 46% of its L+35+digital 18-49 rating from nonlinear sources, the #2 biggest percentage on the NBC schedule behind only “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”
  • Logline: When disgraced Harvard philosophy scholar Jack Griffin loses out on his dream job, he is forced to return to Toledo, Ohio, and work as a high school Advanced Placement biology teacher. As he comes crashing in to Whitlock High School, Jack makes it absolutely clear he will not be teaching any biology. Realizing he has a room full of honor roll students at his disposal, Jack decides instead to use the kids for his own benefit. Eager to prove that he is still king of the castle, Principal Durbin struggles to control the force of nature that is Jack Griffin.
  • “A.P. Bio” stars Glenn Howerton, Patton Oswalt, Lyric Lewis, Mary Sohn, Jean Villepique and Paula Pell.
  • “A.P. Bio” was created by Mike O’Brien, who writes and executive produces. Seth Meyers, Mike Shoemaker, Andrew Singer and Lorne Michaels also serve as executive producers. The series is produced by Universal Television, Broadway Video and Sethmaker Shoemeyers Productions.
  • NBCUniversal’s ad-supported streaming service is set to launch in 2020. It will feature some of the world’s most popular television and film franchises, including homegrown original programming, as well as content from outside partners.
  • NBCUniversal previously announced it has secured the exclusive domestic streaming rights to “The Office.” All nine seasons of this beloved NBC sitcom will be available on the company’s soon-to-be-launched streaming service for five years, beginning in 2021.
