Ryan Eggold is celebrating the holidays and the season of giving at two New York City hospitals this winter. The star of the NBC drama “New Amsterdam” stopped by Kings County Hospital and Bellevue Hospital Center on December 14th to participate in their holiday parties and activities.
Eggold attended the pediatric holiday party at Bellevue Hospital Center, where he played games and shared gifts with the kids. While at the hospital, he also used the opportunity to visit some patients in palliative care and take photos with the hospital staff for the Children of Bellevue newsletter.
“New Amsterdam” is based on Dr. Eric Manheimer’s memoir “Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital” and his experience while serving as medical director at Bellevue Hospital Center, the oldest public hospital in the United States.
During his visit at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, Eggold helped Santa Claus pass out gifts, which were donated by non-profit organization Family on Three. He also had the chance to meet King County Hospital’s senior staff, including CEO Sheldon McCleod.
“Many Thanks to actor Ryan Eggold of the hit medical drama New Amsterdam who dropped by NYC Health + Hospitals / Kings County in Brooklyn to spread some Holiday cheer to pediatric patients and staff.”
