  • Pro Social Initiatives
April 16, 2018

During the 11th annual Green is Universal Earth Week, NBCUniversal brands will come together to highlight how the Earth inspires us to be green. From April 16 – 22, NBCUniversal will encourage viewers to use #EarthInspiresMe on social media to showcase their version of a greener and more sustainable planet.

Throughout Earth Week, NBCUniversal channels will post eco-friendly tips that will provide ways to roll up our sleeves and do the green thing. Topics covered throughout the week will include:

  • Respect the Oceans
  • Reduce Water Usage
  • Buy Fair Trade
  • Composting
  • Upcycle

To support the campaign, this season’s environmentally focused The More You Know PSAs will also air across NBC networks.

New this year is a partnership with CauseBox, a unique subscription service, that will feature specially curated products to help people live greener this Earth Day. We’ll conduct a national sweepstakes for this limited-edition Green is Universal Earth Week box. Learn more about the sweepstakes and rules here. Additionally, NBCUniversal employees will also participate in an e-waste drive throughout the week, designed to help our teams dispose of electronics and e-waste safely and responsibly.

The Green is Universal initiative translates NBCUniversal’s environmental commitment into action across the entire company. We keep the environment in mind within everything from informing and entertaining our audiences to driving more sustainable practices for our businesses.
