From investigative series that inspire change in communities to hosting local events that provide viewers in need with meals, information and health services, NBCUniversal’s owned television stations are strengthening the neighborhoods they call home one day at-a-time.
I am proud of our stations’ work and this month, NBC and Telemundo-owned stations launched their first ever school supply drive, “Supporting Our Schools.” The month-long campaign concludes on Saturday, July 29.
Through “Supporting Our Schools” our stations are helping to raise awareness about classroom needs and what communities can do to help students and teachers in their area. From collecting school supplies to hosting “Fill the Bus” events, NBCUniversal’s local owned stations are doing their part to help students and teachers achieve a brighter tomorrow.
The stations have partnered with Communities in Schools and national nonprofits working at the local level including United Way and Boys & Girls Clubs, among others. Many stations are also working directly with DonorsChoose.org, a not-for-profit organization that makes it possible for individuals to donate directly to public school classroom projects and make it simple for local viewers to participate in "Supporting Our Schools."
I invite you to join the owned stations’ “Supporting Our Schools” education awareness campaign and school supply drive. Visit SupportingOurSchools.com to find out how you can help your local community. To access the information in Spanish, visit ApoyandoANuestrasEscuelas.com.
You can also follow the effort on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram by using the hashtags #SupportingOurSchools and #ApoyandoANuestrasEscuelas.
Thank you for your support.
